Jonas Kern is a multi-instrumentalist film composer, writer-director, actor and multimedia artist based in Berlin. Combining experience from various fields of art, Kern is developing an interdisciplinary, immersive work ethic in the film landscape. Acting in pictures he scores, writing and producing pictures he acts in, and taking up various roles within single productions, he encourages a way of working towards Gesamtkunstwerke with his collaborators, interweaving crafts and creating immersive working environments. His repertoire reaches from genre-film, over drama, to horror and SciFi and neuromodulating sound compositions.

Kern's compositions merge electroacoustic, digital/analog, and orchestral compositional techniques, exploring boundaries between real and fictitious. Specialising in the experimental uses of acoustic instruments and avant-garde vocal techniques, Kern bends these boundaries in his multi-instrument practice and in collaboration with other instrumentalists.
